This past month has been a ton of fun! The best age yet. (I hear I'll say that every month for awhile.) It has been great to be on summer vacation and spending every day with Sam and Emily. I know that August is going to be hard.
Sam
You have really come out of your shell this month. You have discovered your voice and squeal, coo, yell and sing. You are a lot louder than Emily. You have become a lot more interested in toys too. You like to be in your "blue chair" where you can tug on the lady bug and it will play "If you are Happy and You Know It". Luckily it isn't very loud so it hasn't driven us nuts yet. You do a great job reaching and grabbing for things. You still have a hard time with that big head of yours. I guess that is expected from the lack of tummy time and flat on your back on the floor time because of your reflux. Speaking of reflux you finally graduated to a completely flat bed on June 5th and seem to be sleeping just fine. We also haven't been adding ThickIt to your food and have pretty much stopped your Prevacid. You are pretty much a "normal" boy. :-) We still have to slow you down when you eat but you aren't on your side and we don't have to really pace you. You still have grabby hands and will hold on to just about anything. You love to suck on your hands and they are constantly in your mouth. No preference on fingers though...any or all will work. You have taken an interest in your sister and have finally realized that she is there. You've been known to capture strangers hearts with your smiles. You do a great job of turning onto your side from your backbut you haven't mastered a roll yet. You started to become grumpy when you are getting tired but that is easily fixed with a pacifier. You also like to hold onto your monkey before you fall asleep.
Weight: about 18 lbs.
Diaper size: 2
Clothing: 6-9, 6-12 or 9 months
Emily
You have hit your first big first this month... rolling over. We started getting serious about tummy time this month since we got the go ahead from the doctor. On just about the first time you quickly turned from your tummy to your back. I don't think it will be too long before you can roll the other way. You continue to be a mover. It is quite amusing to put you and Sam on the floor next to each other and to watch the difference. You move about a mile a minute. You do a great job holding up your head and on your tummy. You still don't like to be on your stomache but you're getting used to it. Today you even laid and played for awhile. You aren't always sure about loud noises and they sometimes will scare you. (Like when the toilet flushed in the public bathroom the first time I changed you while we were out.) You normally are a great sleeper and wake us up with your "singing" and a giant smile and squeal when we walk in to get you up. It is so cute it almost makes me a morning person... almost. You have become more interested in toys and you will sit and play with them. When I say play I mean try to put them in your mouth. You also have discovered your brother and will sit and smile at him.
