Where has the time gone? I have started 13 and 14 month posts but by the time I get around to finishing them the next month is here. I hope to do a 15, 16 and then every other month until you are two years old. This IS my baby book so I want to make sure I have important things written down. We shall see how that goes.
Sam
Sam you are really coming into your own this month. (Whatever that means...) Over Spring Break you seemed to make it your goal to walk on your own. Such a determined little boy. You spent your evenings pulling up on the kitchen table chair or the ottoman and walking as far as you could, falling, crawling to the nearest pull up spot and repeating. Because of your hard work you are a full fledged walker! You can walk from room to room and you even stood up in the middle of the floor Friday. I haven't seen it but Meg, the babysitter/nanny, did. You LOVE walking and usually have a big smile on your face. You very rarely crawl and you do so with incredible speed. You do a pretty good job of walking around on uneven ground. You lately can be found walking around the house with Little People in each hand. Speaking of hands... this month you tried coloring for the first time. You did a pretty good job holding onto the crayon and drawing. We need to work on the trying to eat the crayon problem. You also have been doing a lot of stacking lately. We finally got out the blocks that you got for Christmas and you like to stack them. You don't push them together hard enough to get them to stick together but you have time to figure that out.
You still eat really well. Usually you have your usual breakfast, lunch and dinner and then for sure an afternoon snack. Sometimes, depending on your nap, you have a morning snack too. You really seem to like: green beans (the other night we finished a can between the two of us and I didn't get that many), Goldfish, anything you can eat out of a pouch, tomatoes, and avacado. You aren't consistent in eating very much meat. Sometimes you'll eat something like salmon just great and the next time it will all end up on the floor. I think you are ready for feeding yourself, but I'm not sure our floor is. You think it is great to feed the dog and you try to make sure she gets a full meal when you eat. You do a lot better when she is outside. You love your milk. You haven't had much juice, I think just apple juice...once, and you seemed to like that. You had your last night time bottle on April 5th. As long as you get a little milk from a sippy cup before bed you are happy. You do love sweets. Thanks to Papa and Nana you've had lemon wafers and chocolate cake. You've also had ice cream. You often "yumm" when eating food. After we went swimming with Papa and Nana's church on April 1st I shared a donut with you. It had been a while since you had sweets, probably not since your birthday. As soon as I put it in your mouth you let out an enthusiast, "Yum!" Of course I had to share anouther bite. So cute.
You LOVE to be outside. Since most of March was balmy you were able to play a lot outside. You race for the door as soon as it opens and we have to get it closed before you slip outside. Usually it makes you mad and you throw a little bit of a fit if we don't let you out. Once you get outside you just seem to be happy being out there. In the backyard you go up and down the stairs, play (eat, throw, sort, move, eat) the rocks, and throw dirt. You don't like to come either. Sometimes you trick us and act like you are coming in but then turn back around once you reach the door. You really like the park too. You are happy to walk/crawl all over, go down slides, and ride on the swings. Lately you have been loving your Little People farm, your Little Tikes Cozy Coupe, your dog, books and cars. We have been to Bounce! and a birthday party at Little Monkey Bizness where you got to play on some "big" kid toys. You loved it all.
You have become a little chatter box lately. You do a great job of imitating what we say. I would say you know the following words:
Mama
Dada
Mo = more
Ma or sometimes Mada = Maddy
boon = baloon
hi
woof
honk (when you squeeze your nose)
sometimes you say something that sounds like thank you
You occasionally do signs for more, and if you feel like it you wave bye but you'd rather use words than signs.
You are still loving, cuddly and sweet. You love your stuffed animals and will snuggle with them and say, "Aww." You have two lovies that you are starting to carry around, but you don't HAVE to have them when you go to bed. You sleep from 8-7ish and then usually take about an hour nap in the morning and normally a two hour nap in the afternoon. You have grown so much in the past three months. It is amazing what a big boy you are becoming. You are definately all boy. You love to play in the dirt and sand. I can't wait for summer time!
