Sam- You have been home less than a week and are slowly adjusting to out of hospital life. We are starting to figure out what makes you happy and how to help when your reflux is acting up. You are beginning to sleep for longer periods of time during the night and no longer are the one who is waking us up. You have the cutest cooing sound when you are awake and looking at the world. You love to look at people's faces and really seem to be listening. You follow objects really well with your eyes too. You can often be found sleeping on Papa's chest during the day. (I'll need a picture of that.) Music often helps to calm you.

Emily- You are still a squirmy little girl. It is no wonder that you aren't putting on the pounds as fast as your brother. We still attempt to swaddle you but don't even try to contain your arms. You have to be buckled into your chairs so that you don't wiggle out. You have the beginning of a rainbow down and you inch your way across the changing table like that. (Feet flat, back arched, you just need to put your hands down and push up.) You have taken over the job of waking us up at night and are, often the last one to fall asleep too. You love your pacifier and get upset if it falls out of your mouth. You are getting better at finding it and sucking it back into your mouth if it is close by. But you're still working on finding your thumb too. You love to be held and love the vibrations of your chair.
